What kind of coverage can I get out of SB-Sealer?
SB-Sealer's formula contains a very high percentage of solids; what this means is that you can get 3-4 times of what is found in conventional sealers. SB-Sealer has customizable formulas. Call or email us for details.
How long will SB-Sealer last?
It is difficult to ascertain the longevity of an impregnating sealer because surface, finish, location, climate, etc. all have varying impact. Typically a horizontal surface such as a granite or marble countertop or floor will require re-sealing every 3-5 years. Exterior applications, showers and commercial flooring face more severe conditions and require re-application every 1-3 years while vertical surfaces (i.e. walls) re-seal at 2-10 years. How do I apply SB-Sealer?
Manufacturer's recommendations are to use a rubber glove and work into the surface using generous amounts of sealer. Then agitate the SB-Sealer with a pre-sealer moistened paper towel.
I have a streaky appearance after the sealer dried, what do I do?
Re-apply the sealer to saturate the surface and be sure to remove any excess before it dries.
What is CE-Color Enhancing Sealer? What is the optimal application?
STT's Color Enhancing sealer (CE-Color Enhancing Sealer) enriches the natural colors of granite, marble, slate and other stones and helps match profiled edges to the polished surface.This product is low odor and VOC compliant and best of all it works with the Lifetime Stain Protection System. Once a desired color has been reached SB-Sealer should be applied to seal the countertops: SB-Sealer will lock in the CE-Color Enhancing Sealer. Durability depends on the application: if SB-Sealer is applied after the CE-Color Enhancing Sealer, then the application will last as long as the SB-Sealer maintains its seal (see How long will SB-Sealer last?). For longer acting results FE-Treatment should be applied as a final step.
Why are SB-Sealer, FE-Treatment, and CE-Color Enhancing Sealer expensive?
The chemicals that make these products are of the highest quality found in the marketplace. They will out perform and outlast any sealers currently on the market; a comparative analysis will show that the expense is more than justified. You do get what you pay for.
What is FE-Treatment?
FE-Treatment is a unique hgh performance color clarifying impregnating sealer. This fast evaporative forms an impermeable layer that is resistant to staining and discoloration; (does not include etching or oxidation). For more information download the product data sheet for FE-Treatment.
Can the SB-Sealer and FE-Treatment be used inside? Outside?
Yes, both can be used in both environments; outside applications face harsher elements but your application can receive a customized warranty. Call or email us for details.
Will STT products allow the surface to breathe?
Yes. This is known as transpiration.
What kind of cleaners do I use on the stone?
We offer several formulas to clean your hard surfaces. Neutral pH and pleasant smelling are EZCLN and ALLCLN. The difference? EZCLN is also a "sealer reinforcer". Both products come in ready to use cases. Concentrates are available in 1 and 5 gallon containers. They are mixed with warm water at a 1 to 10 ratio. Our HDCLN is a high alkaline, grease, mold, oil, and yucky stuff cleaner. It is available in the same format as our neutral products. All three products are available in deodorizing formulas as well, what does that mean? "We asked the formulator, he winked and said "its in there". STT-SANITIZER is the final component. EPA approved to kill 99.999% of bacteria when used according to label instructions. The STT line offers complete solutions to your cleaning, deodorizing, and sanitary treatment needs.
Should I seal my grout? How long will it last?
It is always advisable to seal cement-based grouts. Grouts are very porous and their environments are harsh (climate, water, foot traffic, etc.); we recommend re-sealing approximately 1 year from the date of application.
Will SB-Sealer or FE-Treatment change the color of my stone? Will the SB-Sealer, FE-Treatment, CE-Color Enhancing Sealer buildup, crack, or peel?
SB-Sealer is designed to penetrate porous stone to provide a barrier of protection from staining. The product is virtually colorless but in certain conditions can slightly darken light-colored stone at application but color will restore once the product has dried. STT makes no claims against “no difference” but in most situations once the entire surface has been treated any change will be difficult to detect. STT's products will not buildup, crack, or peel when used according to STT's instructions.
Can I apply STT sealers over existing sealers?
Yes, but before applying make sure all surfaces needing sealing are to be clean and free from debris. Try our SCCLN.
Can I buy STT products direct?
Yes, all STT products can be purchased online by viewing the PRODUCTS page. Add to cart as required. That being said, buying from our distributors is recommended.
What if the stain cannot be removed?
If STT sealers are used according to STT instructions then under the Lifetime Stain Protection System Warranty, STT will cover the cost of removing the stain and re-sealing the stone surface . More explicit information is contained in our Lifetime Stain Protection System report.
Do my customers have to use stone specific cleaners after sealing with SB-Sealer? Do my customers have to use stone specific cleaners after sealing with FE-Treatment?
STT advises that neutral-based cleaners such as EZCLN and ALLCLN be used for periodic maintenance to maximize the look of your surface. That being said, No you don't have to.
Are SB-Sealer, FE-Treatment and CE-Color Enhancing Sealer VOC compliant, LEEDs accepted, and green?

What is the Lifetime Stain Protection System Warranty?
The Lifetime Stain Protection System Warranty Protection is the application of SB-Superer and FE-Super together according to STT's application instructions by a recognized professional. STT will replace any products that are proven to be “off-spec”. The two-component seal is comprised of Part A followed by Part B. This creates a system of protection that is resistant to staining and discoloration (does not include etching or oxidation). Should staining occur, STT's warranty is simple.
